About
Ruth Emma Fox is a freelance Illustrator. Having been based in London for a number of years, her studio now has a home near the English city of Bath. Ruth’s work combines traditional and contemporary practices that produce a unique and high level of craftsmanship.
Her dedication to craftsmanship had humble beginnings. Whilst studying Ruth inherited two complete engineering toolboxes from her grandfather. This would prompt an extensive and personal project, recording each tool and item through hand-drawn illustrations and digitally created, contemporary designs. These themes would continue and evolve both within commercial and personal work in the form of illustration and animation.
Ruth’s specialism of craftsmanship is reflected in past clients, from the bespoke and high-end sector to extensive work within the gallery, museum, and heritage sector.
Additionally, her own ceramic and print lines are exclusively manufactured within the United Kingdom and with a lot of care, from carefully selected suppliers. They are now stocked in select galleries, heritage sites and shops.
Ruth Emma Fox is a member of the Association of Illustrators, Somerset House, London.
